The Cessna Citation XLS is an improved version of the highly successful Citation 650 model originally developed by Cessna in the early 1980’s. The XLS’s improved performance capabilities come by way of upgraded engines.
Building on the success of the 650 and XLS, Cessna upgraded the model’s engines yet again with the Citation XLS+ to Pratt & Whitney PW545C high bypass engines for even greater thrust. The XLS+ received FAA certification in 2008.
The XLS holds up to nine passengers in an ultra-quiet cabin thanks to the triple-sealed entry door and triple-pane windows. An external compartment provides 80 cubic feet of storage space, along with an additional 10 cubic feet in an internal closet.
The XLS+ can take off on runways as short as 3,560 feet – one of the shortest takeoff distances of any mid jet.
Overall, Cessna’s Citation XLS sets the bar for comfort, performance, and reliability in a mid-sized jet.
