Embraer’s Lineage 1000 is the luxury VIP version of its EMB-190 commercial jet.  It is powered by two General Electric CF34-10E7-B engines and has a range of 5,060 miles, allowing it to fly nonstop on charter routes such as Beijing-Dubai or Hong Kong-Sydney.  To better suit the VIP Airliner charter market demand, Embraer added auxiliary fuel tanks, nearly doubling the aircraft’s range.

The Lineage 1000 is gaining popularity in international charter markets in Europe, the Middle East and now Asia after the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has granted type certification for the aircraft.  Embraer expects the Lineage 1000 to be a home run in China because jet owners there seem to prefer large cabin, long-range business jets.  These aircraft offer the ultimate in luxurious living, size and status, the key ingredients for commercial success in Asia’s dynamic business jet markets.

With maximum seating for 19, the VIP jet is only marginally smaller than its charter competitors, the Airbus A319CJ Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) and Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).  However, the Lineage 1000’s cabin is five feet longer than the BBJ’s.  This extra space gives it an edge over pure-play business jets, especially with customers who are looking for airborne homes and offices.  In addition to comfort, the cabin is fully connected for Wi-Fi Internet, so passengers can make calls, send faxes and emails, or just surf the net at 40,000 feet.

The Lineage 1000 is also an exceptionally quiet aircraft, able to fly into many airports which are otherwise inaccessible to competing charter aircraft in its class due to noise restrictions.  Because of its excellent airfield capabilities, the Lineage can utilize shorter runways, such as London City Airport and Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.
