About Swearingen Metro

The Swearingen Metro is a twin-engine turboprop airliner first produced by Swearingen Aircraft and later by Fairchild Aerospace. In passenger configuration the Metro accommodates up to 19 passengers and also offers a separate enclosed lavatory.

 

The Metro is a versatile aircraft with a long history of success in both passenger and cargo flight operations. The “all-cargo” configured Metro III can accommodate up to 4500 lbs. of cargo and has a maximum range of 1,000 miles.

 

Between 1968 and 2001 over 600 Metro aircraft were produced.
